At Elcam, we’re constantly listening to our OEM partners and working hard to improve and expand our product offerings and support services. In this newsletter, you'll find highlights of three specialized products - High Flow Marvelous™, OLAV™, and CombiCap - that we’re introducing in response to evolving OEM and clinical needs, along with updates on our newest facility in the Dominican Republic.

High Flow Marvelous™: Faster Flow for Critical Needs

Responding to demand for a closed, swabbable stopcock that supports higher flow rates for applications like volume resuscitation and blood transfusion, we’re introducing High Flow (HF) Marvelous™, the latest generation of Elcam’s innovative stopcock.

What’s new:

  • Higher flow rates (500ml/min) in the all-open position
  • Redesigned handle and cap for improved grip
  • Improved valve thread for secure syringe and luer lock connections

As part of the Marvelous™ family, HF Marvelous™ offers closed-system protection to reduce bacterial and air ingress, continuous in-line flushing to minimize residual volume, reliable pressure monitoring, simple closed-system blood sampling, universal Luer compatibility, and swab-and-use convenience.

HF Marvelous™ gives OEM partners a differentiated option for moments when speed, safety, and simplicity all need to work together without compromise.

OLAV™: Protection at Every Stage

OLAV™ Closed Male Luer Connector offers clinicians a closed system for syringes and IV sets designed to minimize hazardous drug exposure and microbial contamination at every stage of the medication process:

  1. Preparation. Automatic closure on disconnection reduces drug exposure and contamination.
  2. Transportation. Permanent connection and dust cover support safe, secure handling.
  3. Administration. Intuitive, needle-free closed drug delivery.
  4. Disposal. Closed technology prevents environmental contamination.

From start to finish, OLAV™ keeps safety and simplicity front and center. Its automatic closure on disconnection prevents spills, drips, and dribbles, while the non-detachable locking collar prevents accidental disconnection.  The needle-free, swabbable male tip, compatible with all standard female Luer locks, provides a microbial ingress barrier and its ergonomic grip supports secure, confident handling with minimal changes to current clinical practice.

CombiCap: Single Cap for Simpler Connections

Elcam’s CombiCap combines male and female Luer lock connections in a single-use closure device that’s compatible with syringes, catheters, extension sets, infusion lines, and other disposable medical devices, providing secure closure and reduced contamination risks across varied fluid management applications.

Compatible with standard Luer systems and compliant with ISO 80369-7, CombiCap reduces the need for separate male and female configurations, helping to simplify inventory planning, streamline supply management, and support broader portfolio flexibility. Supplied in bulk in a range of colors for single-patient, single-use applications.

Dominican Republic Facility: Final Construction Stage

Expanding global manufacturing capacity helps OEM partners plan with greater confidence, supporting supply continuity, regional responsiveness, and long-term portfolio growth.

Elcam’s new manufacturing facility in the Dominican Republic is entering the final stages of construction leading up to its official opening in early October 2026, with full operational activity set to begin in Q1 2027.

Led by General Manager Jaime Ramirez, a dedicated local team is already in place, including Magda Reyes, HR Lead; Cayetano Rodriguez, Engineering Lead; Fidel Campusano, Quality Lead; and Manuel Sepulveda, Maintenance & Automation Lead.

The team is driving key readiness activities including facility commissioning, process validation, and assembly preparation. Two automated assembly machines will ship from Israel in mid-July, and two additional systems are already on order, with the first expected to enter validation in the coming weeks.
